Spring at Sunset

After an abnormally cold Winter here in Tucson, Spring has officially sprung and we could not be more excited! Spring is all about neutrals and light layering, which is exactly what we pulled out for this week’s blog post! We drove up to a staple Tucson spot, Gates Pass, to show you how we’ve transitioned our wardrobes from Winter to Spring!

Look One: Kami

In my opinion, Spring is one of the most underrated seasons when it comes to fashion. Because I’m not drawn to the florals and bright colors that most people typically associate with Spring, I opted for a more neutral outfit that included some light layering. This thrifted Budweiser jacket is one of my favorite things in my closet because it’s so easy to throw on top of any outfit and it automatically adds a unique flair. I wanted to keep the rest of my outfit neutral so I chose a pair of denim shorts from Topshop and a simple white tank top from ZARA.

Look Two: Mika

This outfit was perfect for a Spring sunset because it transitions perfectly from day to night. This mesh shirt from Dolls Kill is probably the most Spring-related item in my closet because it’s so light, and something about the angels and clouds on it just screams Spring to me. I threw on a pair of statement jeans from Dollhouse and brought a white denim jacket along just in case it got cooler at night.

This was the first time I had ever participated in a blog post so I was super excited to head up to Gates Pass for the Spring shoot! I wanted to pick out an outfit that was suitable for Spring but did not look like the typical Spring ensemble, just because that’s not exactly my style. I opted for something a little edgier that was still perfect for the weather we’ve been having here in Tucson! I chose to pair this black, long-sleeved, off-the-shoulder top with a pair of denim shorts to keep things simple. I accessorized with a pair of Docs and some statement earrings.

For my second look, I wanted to choose something that was slightly less casual and more fun for the Spring season. I bought this pink, plaid two-piece set from Princess Polly in the dead of Winter with no idea where I would end up wearing it, but after styling it for this post, I’m so happy I made the purchase! It’s so fun and comfortable, and two-pieces are the easiest way to look like you’ve put in more effort than you actually did. I brought a black denim jacket that I threw on top after the sun finally set, and accessorized with a chain necklace from Brandy Melville and a pair of Doc Martens (of course)!

My second outfit is probably a little more of a quintessential “spring” look. It incorporates the bright colors and florals, but I also wanted to include my own edgy twist with the same pair of Dollhouse jeans and this white denim jacket that I made myself.
