When I think of couture I think of over the top, playful, and most importantly sparkly. In each of my three outfits I tried to embody exactly that. For my collection of outfits I’m smiling at couture, but winking at Kate Spade and J.Crew.

My first outfit is a sequin embroidered tulle dress from Needle & Thread London. This dress is one of my all time favorites because even the smallest details have details. I love this dress because you can wear it for a wedding or even just for a nice lunch.
My mom was actually here in Tucson this weekend for my sorority’s Mom’s weekend and coincidentally we wore the same shoes. Mother-Daughter goals, am I right!? Our shoes are rose gold loafers from Restriction, a new brand we recently found together and absolutely adore. These shoes are very practical, yet still nonetheless stylish.
For my second outfit I wore a black body suit that reads “Ladies First” from Forever 21, a hand sewn pink tulle skirt, and pink sparkle sandals from Kate Spade. I love this outfit because my Nana helped me sew the pink tulle skirt a few years ago and every time I wear it I think of the amazing role model she has been. She taught me how to sew and even bought me my first sewing machine as a child.
I love this body suit as well because it is so simple, yet so chic when dressed up with other items. The shirt speaks for itself and it is fabulous. My shoes are dazzling and seriously light up the room due to their pink multicolored sequins. To accessorize I wore ombré pink tassel earrings. These earrings are so playful and perfect for any couture inspired look.
For my third and final outfit I wore a black and white checked J.Crew collared shirt underneath a bright pink Vineyard Vines dress. I love taking two unexpected pairings and creating a new outfit. For jewelry I wore dainty orb drop earrings, the orbs were filled with tiny pieces of multicolored beads and perfectly coincided with my pink dress.
Woops! Bake Shop made for the most amazing location for this shoot due to the aesthetically pleasing seats and sweets. Macaroons are my all time favorite dessert so although posing in front of the display was thrilling, eating them after the shoot was the perfect ending.
In my opinion, couture is all about creating looks that you enjoy and never conforming to what everyone else is wearing. When it comes to overdressing or underdressing my mantra is to always overdress. I see clothing as tangible confidence.
