Sunset: Fall LookBook

When I think of Arizona; deserts, cacti, and dusty open fields come to mind. A fall? There is not much of it, but we ALWAYS find a way to make do. Fall comes in the form of hot lattes, pumpkin patches, oranges and browns, and changing leaves. For our Arizona fall, it comes in the same form. At sunset, Nico, Clo, Marianne, David, and I (Cristina), made our way to the one of few cornfields in Tucson, AZ. It felt serene and the air was light and chilled. I can honestly say that I was feeling the fall vibes. Here are some of the outfits that we put together for out mini excursion, enjoy.

The Shearling Coat; one of the best fall and winter pieces. In this look, Nico pairs the coat with a black ruffled hem tank and a pair of thrifted jeans. To add detail, she belted it with a thick black belt, also thrifted. When you have one overstated element in your outfit, it’s okay to play it safe with the rest of the outfit. One can never go wrong with basics and neutral tones. If you want to try an oversized coat or bright flashy colors…go for it! Don’t be afraid to play with the bold this season!

My go-to fall staple is hands down a blazer. A blazer is so easy to dress up or down. It adds a significant aura and gives a level of sophistication to any outfit. My favorite way to wear a blazer, such as this tweed blazer with a stand up collar, would be to pair it with high waisted skinnies and a simple top. To finish off the look, I would wear it with slides or loafers, and statement earrings or layered necklaces.

If you want to try out blazers this season and are afraid of aging yourself a few years, purchase your blazers oversized. They will lay in a more relaxed manor on your body and by incorporating a pair of sneakers, it’ll be effortless.

Outfit Three: David

Old can be just as good as new. A forgotten sweater is brought back to life in this outfit and the shoes were found in a Goodwill. Just as a farmer must rest his fields, fashion styles are put to rest before resurfacing as something new and fresh.

Gingham is a print that never goes out of style. However, gingham is back and it couldn’t be better. Wear it more casually in a button down, trendy in a romper, and overstated in a pair of trousers. Marianne wore her adorable romper with a statement yellow belt to give it shape and separate the top from bottom. Because the outfit is already eye-catching, Marianne played it minimal everywhere else. For her second outfit, she once again incorporates the mustard yellow. This time in a cropped frayed top from Zara. This would look great with layered necklaces and a simple pair of jeans with fun shoes. Both of these outfits show how to include gingham and mustard yellow in all kinds of forms for your quintessential fall look.
